P4: School Paraphernalia For Pets


This playful, yet purposeful 20-Class Final Project continues to use the Development, Marketing, Sale, and Distribution of School Paraphernalia For Pets (i.e. a Product) to teach 1st thru 5th Grade students fourth-level skill sets in the areas of 1) Business & Entrepreneurship; 2) Innovation & Creativity; 3) Research & Study Habits; 4) Budget & Finance; 5) Career Exposure; and 6) Service Learning. Using a project-based approach, students will learn about the Animal Science Industry and participate in fun and engaging activities that include, but are not limited to the following:


  Business & Entrepreneurship:

  • Building a real world paraphernalia business - managing the full production cycle—from product concept to customer delivery


  Innovation & Creativity:

  • Designing bandanas, collars, tags, toys, and other pet spirit-wear that's both inspired by the school’s mascot or colors and adorable


  Research & Study Habits:

  • Researching pet safety, popular pet items, and current data trends in animal accessories in order to decide what items to create and sell


  Budget & Finance:

  • Learning to work within a budget, price materials, estimate profits, as well as track income and expenses


  Career Exposure:

  • Exploring careers such as Animal Biotechnologists and Agricultural & Food Scientists


  Service Learning:

  • Donating a portion of proceeds and products to an animal shelter
