Take-home Drone Kits
This high-flying 20-Class Final Project continues to use the Development, Marketing, Sale, and Distribution of Take-home Drone Kits (i.e. a Product) to teach 1st thru 5th Grade students fourth-level skill sets in the areas of 1) Business & Entrepreneurship; 2) Innovation & Creativity; 3) Research & Study Habits; 4) Budget & Finance; 5) Career Exposure; and 6) Service Learning. Using a project-based approach, students will learn about the Aviation Industry and participate in fun and engaging activities that include, but are not limited to the following:
Business & Entrepreneurship:
- Forming a small startup business to design, package, and promote drone kits—learning about target audiences, product value, and more
Innovation & Creativity:
- Using imagination to customize drone shells and write kid-friendly build instructions that'll ultimately create user-friendly, engaging kits
Research & Study Habits:
- Analyzing market trends and comparing DIY models to commercial kits in order to make informed design and business choices
Budget & Finance:
- Working with real-world numbers to budget for materials, calculate production costs, set pricing, and explore profit margins
Career Exposure:
- Exploring careers such as Propulsion Engineers and Aviation Engineers
Service Learning:
- Donating kits to under-resourced schools or local community centers
